Robert's Story
Life
Bob Holt is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a BS in Education / Paleobotany. He received a ROTC commission in the US ARMY in Armor and served during the Viet Nam conflict. After teaching life science for two years in Kirkwood, MO., Bob became a photo lab technician at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Rising through the ranks first as a photojournalist, photo editor, make-up editor and director of photography, Bob was named director of imaging technology for in 1981. Based in editorial and with tenures in pressroom, plate room, engraving, composing and advertising departments, Bob defined and directed the evolution of the newspaper into deadline-sensitive full color offset printing as well as full-page pagination.
Hired in 1989 by Scitex America, Bob served as director of industry marketing for news publishers both newspapers and magazines. Under his direction the news publishing division of Scitex grew from $1 million to $45 million annual revenues. Bob managed the worldwide news publishing efforts and guiding the acquisitions of Leaf Systems and P.Ink GMBH to the Scitex publishing product lines to meet the customer...Expand for more

After leaving Scitex America, Bob became president of Publishing Consult, Inc. a consulting company providing product and marketing assistance to many major newspaper vendors and newspaper companies. Bob served as vp of sales and marketing for MPI / Pentawave a company based in Scottsdale, AZ selling web based product for e-commerce to the publishing industry.
Bob served as vp of sales / marketing / product development for VanGennep MAC in Amsterdam, The Netherlands developing publishing management products for the magazine market. Currently, Bob runs his own consulting company working with publishing companies. His major client has been the University of Missouri School of Journalism working on new directions in journalism and media distribution.
Bob is a board member at the Missouri School of Journalism and the Missouri Association of Publications. A five time Pulitzer Nominee in photojournalism, Bob remains an avid photographer and enjoys fly-fishing.
Bob lost his wife of 40 years, Patrice Markway Holt, in October 2008. They have four children now married and living in New England with three grandchildren.
